Element Tree- Palmetto Citrus Candles

Product Advertisement

The brief centered on capturing light through product photography, which immediately drew me to candles as they're this perfect intersection of light and atmosphere, where both illumination and scent shape the mood of a space.
So, I reached out to a local Savannah business and proposed a collaboration where I would take one candle from them and in return give them a product film for their social media.

A short film that's both invigorating and calming, a visual invitation into a space you want to be in. The vintage aesthetic gives it soul, while the modern touches keep it fresh and relevant. It found its home on their Instagram, connecting with people who were looking for exactly that blend of focus and comfort in their everyday moments.

Process

I approached this by really sitting with what the candle felt like to me not just what it smelled like, but the mood it created. I wanted to build a world that balanced that vintage warmth with clean, modern sensibility. Through careful lighting, texture, and pacing, I worked to translate those scent notes into visual language: the brightness of citrus, the earthy grounding of sandalwood, the crispness of green. It was about making people feel the candle before they ever lit it.
