Maniac- A Netflix Original
Brand Packaging for a Show
The brief was to rebrand the packaging a show in a way that honors the show's core themes. Working alongside Youmin Shin, my partner for this project we wanted to create something that felt both grounded in the show's 80's tech aesthetic and elevated through modern design sensibilities. Our inspiration was taken from some cross genre series like Severance and Legion.

A packaging rebrand that feels like the show itself layered, intriguing, and a little unsettling in the best way. The fusion of 3D minimalism with retro tech vibes creates visual tension that pulls you in, while the patterns and linear elements suggest the psychological and undefined connections between worlds.
It's other packaging that doesn't just sit on a shelf it invites you into the strange, interconnected universe of Maniac. Check it out below.

Process
We started by pulling from the show's key visual elements the sterile lab environments, the machines, the drugs, the sense of pattern and repetition and translated them into a cohesive visual language. Linear aesthetics and representational graphics became our through-line, creating connections between disparate worlds. It was about showing how different realities can exist simultaneously, linked by something you can feel but can't quite explain.
